    iPhone App?

I have a friend who is a burgeoning iPhone app developer and he asked me if I would have an interest in an information app that would help determine state laws and reciprocity while traveling. Since I often travel for work I told him I was definitely interested.

I figured I would ask on here and get him to take a look at this thread - would any of you find any value in something like this?

Also, I pointed him towards Handgunlaw.us - as they may be interested in partnering with him on this project.

Good to know - he told me he didn't find any when he looked.

    Here it is: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/legal...337513100?mt=8

What do you think of the app?

I have it, it seems current and is nice to have it on the iPhone. I still refer to Handgunlaw.us for reference.

absolutely interesting app, however he should consider cross referencing it with other Droid phone manufactures. (ie) Samsung Moment, HTC etc...

Several apps are already in the iTunes store that deal with gun laws and carry laws. Look them up, use them, then make one better.

There's another APP out there that's specific to CC - Gun Conceal. While I like and appreciate Legal Heat, Gun Conceal is much better at keeping updates to it's information than I've experienced with Legal Heat. Gun Conceal also has much better in-depth information than Legal Heat - on a par with Handgunlaw.us The upside to Legal Heat for me is that it covers both CC and OC.

So, all that being said, I don't see that I'd purchase another App when I've got two others on my phone that give me what I want. Nothing personal, just business thinking for me.

I would prefer it in an Android based OS.
"Gun Free Zones" is where only criminals carry guns.

I think a great idea would be an app that, after you set your home state, lets you know that you are entering a state that does not have reciprocity with your state. With the gps and all this would not be hard.

He actually mentioned being able to put in what state your permit was issued in and whether it was resident or not and tailoring the results based on that.

I don't believe he does Android apps at this time, but I'll pass on the interest.
