    Reciprocity question

I'm going to be traveling from Ga to Fl this weekend. I have a GFL and I know that Fl recognizes it, my question is, which states gun laws do I abide by?

Got to love Handgunlaw.us, a little more reasearch and I answered my question. Basically, when traveling into or through a state, you are subject to THAT states firearms laws. DUH, feel kind of dumb now.

You are always subject to the laws of the state you are in...not where you are from.

Correct. You are bound by the laws of the state you are in.

It is important to know and understand the laws of the state that you are visiting so that you don't inadvertently break the law.

It may be legal for you to carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol in your state, but it may be illegal for you to do so in another.

Some states require that you inform an LEO if you are stopped, some don't.

Either one of these could get you in serious trouble that results in getting your license revoked if you happen to screw up.

Make sure you know the laws of the state that you are visiting.

As a matter of common courtesy, if pulled over by LEO, go ahead and inform him/her of your carrying status. In most cases, you'll be greatly appreciated by the LEO...no matter what state you are in(except CA, maybe).
