My first traffic stop since CHL

This morning in pain I'm driving to the local CareNow on my way into the office, because I fractured my wrist over the weekend.

I get pulled over for going 7 over the limit...

Car in park, with both hands the best I could on the wheel (I couldn’t grab the wheel with my left.)

I hand him both DL and CHL

He asks if I was carrying..

Me: Yes Sir.. (told him where it was.)

He looks that my hand swollen and bruised...

    What happened to your hand?

Me: I think I broke my wrist, Sir.

    Have any warrants?

Me: No Sir, just got my CHL. This is my first time stopped since.

    Do you need an ambulance?

Me: Nah, I'll suck it up and drive myself, Sir

Good deal, just slow down put on your flashers if you need them and BTW good job on your first stop

Sorry about your wrist. The stop was about as good as it's going to get.

So, your wrist? Strong side or weak side?

What a classy LEO, we need thousands more like that (I know we already have a lot, but we do have some bad apples)

Hope your wrist gets to feeling better.

Good job by both of you. I've hade my permit for 15 years and have never been stopped while carrying. I keep waiting for it though...

yep, fractured a couple hand bones... I'll have a cast in a couple days when the swelling goes down.

He was real nice, didn't even ask for my insurance. He asked me twice (if not three times) if I needed an ambulance.

Sorry about the wrist and the pain, but, if you can't pay attention, have someone drive you.

Left hand, weak side. (good thing) However I have been training to shoot with weak side (not as good as my right, but I'll hit center mass for sure) and to reload with one hand (either one) in the event of an emergency.

The compassion of some folks overwhelm me at times. Not real sure what "not paying attention" has to do with anything concerning the OP. With that said, hope your hand heals soon. Stay safe, watch your six, and take some of that lead out of your foot!!!
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
