If you can see a bulge, not a problem in my book, but it you can see the grip of a gun, that is going to cause some problems. It must be concealed!

yes thats what i thought i just cant find shorts with deep enough pockets. the top or the grip sits just below the pocket opening you have to be looking to see it.

Go to Kohls, if you have them, and buy Croft and Barrow cargo shorts. They are plenty deep. I have carried my 642 this way for the last 3 years.

If you find some shorts that you really like, I think you could have the right front pocket lengthened for a few bucks. I know tux shops / suit stores do alterations daily.
Heck, I'm sure you could do it yourself... and in fact it might be nice to find a way to attach the holster to the inside of the pocket to aid your draw. Maybe velco, snaps, or buttons?

I think having the pockets altered is the best bet. That way you can buy whatever pants of shorts you want (as long as they're loose fitting) without caring about the pocket depth. My wife gets pockets altered in her pants all the time and it only costs around $5. Granted, she's typically having them removed and sewn shut, but it couldn't be much more work to lengthen them.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.

You are just a little parinoid. I also carry a J frame in the front pocket in a Uncle Mikes, same as the Nemesis, and if I look down I can see a bit of the grip, but NOBODY has ever noticed , or mentioned it.
p.s. I am not big, 5 11, and 165

Gander Mtn is selling Columbia shorts with really deep pockets. I bought one 3 weeks ago, and just picked up another today. There are several other shorts being sold there that don't have deep pockets!
In fact, I sewed in a strip of velcro to make it carry my PPS. That works fine!

I have encountered same situations, but covered the butt of the pistol with a bandanna, and all went well.

I found some Savane shorts at Sam's that have very deep front pockets, which are covered even more by another set of outer cargo pockets on the front, which provide cover for whatever is in the first 2 pockets.
They were either $7 or $14, can't remember. Unfortunately they aren't in stock all the time. One of those hit-or-miss items.
The pockets are plenty deep enough for a snubby.

If I'm not pocket carrying my 642 (Mika or Nemesis holster) when shopping for pants or shorts, I know that if I can extend my fingers and slide my hand into the front pocket up to my wrist, it's deep enough for the snubby. My hands are average sized. I hope this tip helps.
Cheers!
