Thumbs up My first Conceal Carry Experience

I live in Maryland But have a Utah CCW permit. I have been working a lot lately In Washington DC The only thing worse than Maryland .
I went over to Virginia this weekend I live a mile away form the VA line and went to Walmart and Gander Mountain Carrying my Ruger SR9 in my Cross Bread Super Tuck Holster locked and loaded.
I felt weird and did feel like people were looking at me at times but, everything went well.
I did not shoot myself or anyone else & that is always good .
I plan from now on to do most of my shopping and traveling in Virginia so it was nice to break the seal on Carrying concealed.

It gets less weird the more often you do it. I forget I have mine sometimes.

Hey, Congrats on your first time. The first couple of times you carry will seem weird but you will get used to it in no time.

And the gun didn't go off all by itself either

Good stuff, hopefully you'll be able to carry more often in the future.

Do not worry, you will get use to it pretty soon.

Congratulations on your first time! You are feeling the samething everyone of us felt when we started. Soon you will forget you have it and realize no one is watching.

What? Your first outing wasn't to Wally World? Shame on you for breaking a serious CCW tradition!

    Congrats!

At first, you'll be sure everyone can see the outline of
your weapon and that every movement flashes it.
You will KNOW everyone is pointing at you - "He's got a gun!"
The more you wear it, the more comfortable you will be with it.
If you have a truly GOOD holster/belt combo, you will hardly notice it.
You will learn to "dress around the gun".
Dark colors and patterns are your friend, as are loose-fitting shirts.
You will learn to not tug on the hem of yourshirt every 5 minutes t oassure yourself you're still concealed.
You will lean to stop constantly adjusting the holster.
In fact, if the holster/belt is the proper fit, you won't need to.
You will gradually stop touching the butt with your elbow just to assure yourself that it's still in place.
You will learn to give a little extra clearance on your carry side.
You will learn to reach overhead with your weak-side hand.
You will learn to stoop or kneel rather than bend.
You will learn to move through crowds with your strong side to the rear.
You will learn to reach overhead with your weak hand.
You will learn to give a little added clearance to your strong side.
    In short, you will learn.

Thanks everyone for the advice and reassurance that I will get use to it. I have carried again sense then and it was a little bit less unconvertible and when I sen uncomfortable I mean the feeling not my holster it is working great for me.

Eventually, you'll notice it no more than the fact that you are wearing pants.
