    First night out....

I was approved yesterday, day 82, and immediately picked up my permit and put it into action. I visited two car dealerships to help my Mom find a new vehicle and then went out to dinner; it felt good knowing I was prepared. Too bad I can't carry at work; not allowed here.

Sounds good. Pretty soon you will feel naked without it.

How did you end up with a 2000sk in both 9 and 40 (if you don't mind me asking).

Funny you ask.... I was torn between getting a full size (larger size) pistol that shares magazines with a smaller pistol in the same caliber. I had two USP Compacts in both 9 and 40 and ultimately thought that they would be too large for EDC. I traded them both in on the 2000sk's as now I can have a very small easily concealable gun that can take USP/P2000 magazines with the addition of the X-Grip spacer (which I have for both).

Grats! As cammo girl said you will soon feel naked with out carrying.

The HK P200sk is a nice choice for carry. That is on my short list. I currently EDC a HK P30 or my XDm 3.8. But the HK I love.

It just kills me to know how long so many have to wait after they apply before they actually get their permit in hand. Here in Mobile County Alabama it took me about 20 min's and $20.00 & I walked out of the Sheriff's Office with permit in hand.

Took me over 60 days for my initial CHL and 40 days for my renewal. Texas DPS has since streamlined the process. I think the work was too much. I like the way Alabama does it!

Alabama diffenitely does it right. I guess I can't complain to much compared to some of the times I have seen on here, it only took 12 days to get mine here in Ohio.

Hey Spartan how do you carry your 3.8 I picked one up when I got my CCW but I just feel like I print all the time. I have a crossbreed supertuck, but feel like I would be made all the time if I didn't have on at least a light jacked. Let me know.

    thanks,
