I'll be honest, I did know for sure if CPL in Michigan could carry in airport. So I got online and found out the federal law allows for carry in the Airport before security screening.
I picked family up at Detroit Metro last night, I was carrying through the airport and parking structure it was very reassuring. TSA screening is a joke, I guess it is to make us feel safer.

What does state law say about carrying in an unsecured area of the airport.
Might I recommend: handgunlaw.us to keep a Cliff's Notes copy of your state's laws.

Yes, Michigan State law allows the right to carry in airports, Thanks you make a good point to check the state laws too.

This actually became eaiser post 911 since they used to allow friends and family to go through the screening area without a ticket, now your have to say goodby before the secure area, but you can carry up to there, in Michigan at least, unless the airport is posted. The two airports my family uses the most are not posted.
