It's great that so many states have shall-issue CCW laws now, but there are sure a lot of dumb restrictions in many of those states. I'm very lucky to live in Colorado ... the only off-limits places (other than places with metal detectors all all entrances) are K-12 schools ... that's onerous enough, but at least it's the only restriction. Our good CCW laws would NEVER pass today, with the Dems now in control ... glad we got our CCW laws back when Colorado was Republican-controlled.

Any chance of that being changed in the next five to seven years? That's my window.

I was once asked to return my firearm to my vehicle while attending a wedding at a hotel. I thought it was a little strange but its possible someone was uncomfortable so I was happy to comply...plus it got me out of the wedding for a few.

I made up my mind to NEVER break the law but ,,,,, as I have
    stated before,,,,

"If my Legal Self, Legal Handgun and Legal Permit are not welcome,
then my Legal Tender is also not welcome."

and I will NOT go if I know I am not legal anywhere ,,,,, They just
    lose my business.

Yes, but you were the Dad and that shotgun was to make sure the Son In Law to be did the 'right thing'. Glad it turned out OK anyway.

How did they know you were armed? Were you open carrying? I went to a funeral today and was armed. Nobody knew, thanks to my CROSSBREED SUPER TUCK DELUXE and a good cover garment. Nobody had even an inkling. Good thing, too. The liberal quotient was huge given the fact that the deceased was a retired teacher and most of those in attendance were of the anti firearm mindset.

That is insane. Banks are one place where it makes sense to carry.
I guess if the bank is robbed, you could ask the robber to let you complete the deposit first. :)

Fortunately, in Utah there aren't legal signs and few restricted places. Churches can post legal notice, but I think that is about it. The NBA stadium has metal detectors, but I haven't been there for years.

Other than federal places and courtrooms, I have only seen two or three signs in the years that I have been CC'ing, although I have heard of a few others. The Utah gun forum I frequent has them identified.

In AL, the signs have no legal force behind them, however, they can ask you to leave if you're made. So yeah, I don't see signs either.

I agree about living in CO, they are pretty good about respecting our rights. And I don't wanna start a debate, but the R's are as much an issue with gun legislation as the D's. Either way, I am thankful to have the right to CC.
