Kahr extra magazine holder..what kind?
For those who carry a Kahr PM9 or CW9 (either one as I have both), what kind of extra magazine holder do you use? I need to find one that will work for either the CW9 magazine or the PM9 magazine and goes on the belt. Black leather or kydex. What do you use? pics would be nice if you have em. Thanks.

Kahr Extra Mag Carrier
Found a nice little $5 cordura belt sheath with Velcro'ed flap for Leatherman knives at Dick's Sporting Goods about 3 years ago.
It has a belt loop and is rugged.
Holds a six or seven round Kahr mag very nicely and securely without exposing the contents.
Nobody has ever asked to see my Leatherman.
By the time I need a spare mag, the Velcro noise will be irrelevant.
I've also seen this Leatherman sheath at L.L.Beans for just a little bit more.
This would be an excellent carrier for other brands of magazines as well.

I found a cordura cell phone case that my extra Glock mag fits into perfectly.

Actually there is one on the Kahr Shop site that I like, but it's $27. Single mag holder. Made of Kydex by Center Of Mass. I may have to start looking at cell phone cases.

I used to keep a spare mag for the 40 or 9 in a generic flimsy multi-tool belt sheath but while getting in and out of the car the seat bolster would always push on the sheath. I always carried spare PM mags in the sheath upside down (first round facing down) for ease of draw. Since the sheath was so flimsy, this slight pressure of getting in and out of the car dislodged the first round a few times each day.
At Bass Pro the other day in their multi-tool section, I found a black moulded cordura $12 Red Head brand multi-tool sheath with a fold-over velcro top flap that fits the extended baseplate 6 round PM40 mag or extended baseplate 7 round PM9 mag perfectly.
I looked at the entire selection of sheaths at Cabela's and Bass Pro and this sheath best fit the bill for my purposes.
Since switching to this sheath I have yet to have a round come loose in this sheath.
I'd post up a link from Bass Pro, but all they show online is the flimsy version of a Red Head Sheath.

Several months ago I went to the local knive store and found a used nylon belt sheath for a leatherman. It fits my CW40 mags and the MK9 Mags. It even has the leatherman logo on the flap. $3.00 OTD

Bingo. The top round in the Kahr mags is at a steeper angle than the rounds below. If it gets nudged forward, it can pop out. Worse, if it gets nudged only a bit forward, it will assume a nose-down attitude, which can result in a nose-into-the-feed-ramp jam if you load it into the pistol in that condition.
Whatever mag carrier you get, make sure it is snug!

I had one made for my Kahr by FIST. Never had a problem with the top round, FIST does it right.

For my MK9 I use one made by Blackhawk. It is a leather mag holder designed for single stack 9mm magazines. I like it, as it holds the mag secure, high and up against me. It was a$16 at a local shop.

I have a single mag holder I bought at a surplus store. I paid like $4 or so. If you don't mind the OD color, it does the trick. Holds 2 CW-9 mags just right. However, most of the time I just throw a mag in pants pocket.

When I carry Kahrs, the primary is almost always either a K-9 or a K-40. Either way, I carry two full-capacity+1 mags in a belt pouch on the offside (Brommeland or Rosen) and one more mag in my left side pants pocket. On the (extremely rare) occasions when a PM-9 or MK-40 is primary, the spare mag is pocket-carried, because that's what works for the circumstances.

I bought a holster as well as a mag/light carrier from Little Bear and they have been great. My Streamlight fits nice and snug and so does my spare 6 round mag for my PM40. However, it did cost a pretty penny more than you guys with your ~$5 multi tool pouches...
