    Dinner 'and' a Show

The wife and I went to the Golden Corral, in Fort Smith last Wednesday, with our church group and had a tense moment while eating there. There was about a dozen of us, mostly older folks; the wife and myself being by far the youngest in our late forties. We had all gotten a long table towards the back to eat at and during our meal I watched a lone man, dressed like he was homeless sit alone at a table, not far from us to eat.

He was facing the window and talked to himself through out his whole meal. When he got done eating, he turned sideways in his chair and just stared at us for a good while; the wive noticed as well and placed her elbow in my side to make sure she and I were on the same page.

The man finally stood up and while looking straight at me, came toward us. At the same time he went for something in his back pocket with his right hand. I dropped my fork and lowered my hand down towards my weapon and was just about to stand when he pulled out his wallet. The wife and I both let out a sigh of relief, as we both had been watching the man and knew something wasn't quite right about him.

From his wallet he pulls out a piece of paper with an Obama joke written on it, which he stood there and proudly read to us all. Luckily it was a clean joke and no harm was done to the little old ladies with us; nothing like dinner 'and' a show.

When we left he was still going from table to table reading his joke to people; I can only assume that he wasn't later escorted out.

    So, what was the joke?

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

LOL, it was something about buying a bunch of dandruff shampoo to get rid of Obama, because it removes flakes. LOL, I couldn't help but laugh, but part of it was because he had gone from being a possible threat to just being a nut.

There's a very fine line there. I'm glad your SA was up and running and all worked out well.

I was at a Mexican restaurant last night and there was a guy I had my eye on. He had been drinking and was eyeing this one lady and talkin to her and all that stupid stuff. He looked like a big sleaze ball. Not that I would have actually drawn my weapon, but it's amazing what I've learned to see and watch for over the past 3 years of carrying and all. I probably wouldn't have even seen this guy a few years ago. i'd been to wrapped up in either the TV or conversation.

I applaud you; you handled this very well.
A CCW is like a parachute; if you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.
