The El Paso Saddlery SnapOff holster for my full size Sig P250 .45ACP will be in Tuesday, so I'm officially switching to .45ACP - and that's a good reason to.

What? You thought it had something to do with stopping power or something? Didn't you read my other thread about ...Does caliber matter...?

I'd say that's a good enough reason to switch

    Hey Tangle.

I've really not heard much about the El Paso Saddlery leather goods since I bought a Western rig from them (holster & gunbelt) many moons ago. That was for a .22 rim-fire cowboy gun.
They have been making great quality cowboy holsters for ages but, I'm wondering how their concealment leather stacks up these days.
Mayhaps you could do a holster review sometime in the near future.

I think we all switch gears in our guns, caliber, and carry modes the longer we carry. What made you switch? Can't go wrong with the 45, just curious.

    I never say never.

One nice thing about the Sig P250 besides being a very good pistol for the money is that it is so easy to change calibers.
For $200 you can have a.40 S&W/.357 Sig or a 9 mm, not including Mags. Hope you like the new holster.

Honestly? I just kept seeing that big ol .45 next to a 9mm and thought about all that mass and momentum.

But, I could argue either side of the 9mm/.45 debate convincingly. There's a lot to be said for large, crunching bullets, and there's lots to be said for a 9mm round's capacity, low recoil and the improved ability to put a lot of hits on target fast.

But right now, I'm a .45 guy, well as soon as my holster comes in. But if I were in a SHTF situation, I'd be a 9mm guy; more rounds, less weight to carry and transport, etc.

I've had the P250 .45 for a while now, I just hadn't switched to it because I didn't have a holster; the holster comes in tomorrow.

I have several of their holsters. Very nice stuff. I really like the "High Slide".

I am much more accurate with 9mm but always prefer the big boom of a .45
