This guy in the story is an idiot, and hurts all of us who take carrying and the law seriously. Our local anti-gun comunist, I mean columnist, has run this flag up the pole and has been shining a light on it. Although it is a VERY small percentage of people with permits that do stupid and illegal things, those are the ones the antis parade all over the place.

I hope this doesn't turn into one bad apple spoiling the whole bushel.

Sigh. Waterstone has gone on the record as being anti-gun - they don't get any business from me anyway, as you don't get much for your money - but the fact that this happened there does nothing to help our fight for gun rights. The patron did many things wrong, that hopefully do not reflect on all gun owners/carriers. For starters, carrying a gun without a holster - even a pocket holster - is asking for trouble, since you have far less control over its movement and location should you need to use it (not only that, but a holster protects the trigger - preventing something like this from happening in the first place.) Second, yes, we now have the right to carry concealed into a restaurant that serves alcohol and abstain, or carry openly and be permitted to imbibe - but not the other way around.

This guy seems to have done everything wrong, including panicing and running from the scene. Not the actions of your typical law abiding citizen, IMO.

No much info, but I do not see anywhere that the gun was not in a holster. Actually, the article does not mention a holster at all.

Drinking and no holster, then handling his firearm...hard to fix stupid, but maybe the fines will help.

Hmmm, not good. Not good at all. I'm glad this is far from normal behavior.
In the Marine Corps I carried one of the standard Beretta M9 service pistols in a traditional duty holster. Now it's a 1911 in a SuperTuck. I'm glad for the upgrade.

I'm glad were not hearing more of this type of behavior. There was quite a few of us that did state that alcohol and firearms did not mix and though the numbers did not support our accusations, most of us said, give it time and people are just that way, the numbers will rise or just a few incidents will outweigh the numbers game due to the severity of incidents.
