    Going to Colorado next weekend

I am flying up to Colorado on Thursday to visit my uncle for the weekend. He doesn't know I carry, I will be staying at his house and I am not renting a car. Should I still bring my G19? I know I want to and I will feel naked without it but staying at his house and not having my own truck there makes it kind of difficult...

I would check out www.handgunlaw.us. It appears that Colorado does honor the Arizona CCW permit. If you don't have a permit then I would leave the gun at home. I would also look up transportation of a firearm in the city you are staying. Denver has their own host of laws that are lots of fun! Good luck and stay safe (and stay off Colfax and Federal Blvd.)

Hey there, welcome from Denver. Colorado is relatively reasonable in terms of gun laws. We do reciprocate with the Arizona permit. Additionally, you may carry in your car without any permit. Denver used to be much more restrictive than it currently is, the 2004 Meyers decision struck down most restrictive statutes. You may now carry in Denver, the same as the rest of the state, the only remaining restriction deals with "high capacity" semi-auto rifles and shotguns.

Fire away with any other questions, just don't do anything stupid and you'll be fine! :)

Ridiculous! I'm a lot more afraid of I-70 & I-25, especially during rush hour. And I don't avoid them either.

Nosler Guy - transportation of a firearm in Colorado is not an issue. In fact, any person legally able to own a firearm can have said firearm concealed and on their person while in their vehicle, with or without a CCW permit. Out of the vehicle is a different matter, but Colorado recognizes a personal vehicle as an extension of a dwelling, and allows for an individual's right to defend themselves and their family.

SpencerB - bring it with you, carry it if you have an AZ permit, or just open carry if you don't (just not in Denver). Have a good visit!

My uncle actually drove on Federal to Colfax to get into downtown Denver. He lives in Bennett and we were going to play pool at the Wynchoop Brewery and he was avoiding the Rockies game traffic.

I love Colorado and no actually I wasn't carrying, my uncle asked me not too and out of respect for his house and cars his rules I wasn't packing this weekend... I was however working on my SA and practicing that.
