First LEO Contact With CCW
Apparently I have a lead foot, which tends to exhibit itself when I'm changing radio stations. I never noticed this fact previously, but one of the boys in blue did Saturday evening as I was headed home from work, and pulled me over to inform me of the fact.
"Sir, the reason I pulled you over this evening is you were going a little fast back there. Any reason you are in a rush?"
"No sir, I was just changing a radio station and wasn't paying attention."
"Well, I'll have to take a look at your insurance and registration."
"Yes sir (hands still on the steering wheel), but before I get them for you, I would like to let you know (at this point I notice him nodding like he knows what's coming) that I have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and am armed."
"Where is it?"
"On my waist at 5:00"
"OK, where is your wallet?"
"In my lunch bucket."
"OK, go ahead and get it out for me."
So I retrieved the licence, CCW permit, and vehicle paperwork for him without complication. The rest of the stop was uneventful, and he was a nice guy and let me off with a verbal warning ... for going 10mph over! All in all, a good contact handled exactly the way it should have been. And yes, I would say this even if I had gotten a ticket - Lord knows I've deserved it for a long time now.
What the **** - How did I end up on this soapbox again?!?!?

Quit playing "TOP GUN" music when your driving.I remember when I was much younger, after watching a car chase type of movie,a lot of cars leaving the parking lot were peeling out and burning rubber

Ya mean he didn't take your lunch bucket and empty the contents into your trunk and take your ham sandwich apart and tell ya not to put it back together until he'd gone?

LOL Agreed. I really do enjoy these stories though.
