I work for a city govt and we have had an issue here recently with one of our guys carrying a gun in a city vehicle. Now the city is trying to ban all firearms in PERSONAL vehicles, if the vehicle is on city property. I know that a private business cannot adopt such a policy, but what about a city owned utility? Do the rules change for govt enities, and if so why?

Personal vehicles - that really sucks!
I guess tho and fear - they will win the day. Hard to see any way round it - assuming too as in so many cases, folks seem not to have heard of the Constitution and 2A

Not sure about your state's laws. To me it sounds like a "rule" might try to be implemented. Depending on your state's laws governing business's abilities to ban weapons, they may need to pass a city ordinance concerning this. The state laws should also outline if/how a city can make the law more restrictive.
If it concerns you that much, I'd look in to it. About half an hour on the web and you should know.
