I went to work today and didn't take any of the pain junk. The knee is doing MUCH better. Still somewhat stiff and sore, but way better than it was. Looks like the injection into the knee, the anti-inflamatories, and staying off of it all weekend propped up with ice on it did wonders. Hopefully nothing is torn and no surgery will be necessary. Hopefully no more pain junk necessary either (Ironically, when people are young they spend good money on stuff to make them feel weird and when they are older they just feel weird and spend good money on medications to make them feel normal). I'll just continue to take it easy and touch base with my Physician to see where we go from here. The troublesome part is not knowing WHY it happened. Must be part of getting old...stuff just starts hurting for no apparent reason.

The warnings (don't operate machinery, don't sign contracts, don't play cards for money) are generally for when the drug is new and the side effects unknown to the new user. After taking for a while it is generally safe to reevaluate and determine what is or is not safe.

I think if you're just sitting at home, having one within reach is okay as long as you're not tempted to handle it unnecessaily. But I think if you used it they'll probably take a dim view of you shooting while medicated when you're in court.

scenerio......... Lets say you are going out and plan on drinking. You leave your ccw at home, locked up in your nightstand box. You get home and go to sleep. half hour later you hear glass break, your wife screams! Your still buzzed from drinking. Intruder is threatening your wife.
now are you thinking ...."impaired is impaired" or "justified is justified"??? I would never condone drinking and ccw. Even 1 drink and a the DA will paint an ugly picture of you. I believe in the confinds of your own home, you are not going out looking for a BG, He came to you! Stay armed! It doesnt need to be on your hip. I would strongly suggest an easy access lock box for fireams(key, combo, fingerprint, etc) since you mentioned kids. and sorry to hear about your knee. good luck
