    web resource needed for CCW

Looking for a web resource that can answer a quesiton about CC when traveling in another state (that has reciprosity.) Trying to find out in which states MUST you notify LEO that you carry if you are pulled over for a traffic stop. Have looked on www.handgunlaw.us but they do not give that info. Any other sites? Also would like to know which states have your ccw license flagged to your drivers license. Thanks for the input.

    Check this one out: www.nraila.org/recmap/recguide.pdf
Most phones have PDF readers, so you might want to keep a copy on your phone if you can.
I don't know how accurate this is and the best way is to read know the laws of each state since that's what it will come down to, not what NRA wrote in a document.
I live in RI and notices of a couple of errors in the document (I will contact them and let them know). For example, the police chief is usually also a licensing authority in a town per RIGL 11-47-11, but this can be determined by the town council. Under Key Government Offices, the State Police is listed. I don't know why they are listed since they have nothing to do with CCW.
Also, the permit issued by the Attorney General (per RIGL 11-47-18) is Open/Concealed Carry. Permits issued by a police chief is only Concealed Carry. Also, the Attorney General is May Issue, while a police Chief is Shall Issue (there is case law on this since several residents have successfully sued the chief in their town). Last, Texas only recognizes a RI permit that is issued by the Attorney General.

There are also several books on this, but I don't know if any of them are 100% and statutes change frequently.

Update, here is a PDF from the ATF with ALL state laws in one document. However, it's from 2008, so this will not be 100% accurate either.

Look again on www.handgunlaw.us. Just click on the states you are traveling to and when the pdf pulls up that answer is at the top center of every page.

Look again, handgunlaw.us does give that info. It is on the top of the page, "Must Inform Officer: Yes or Not"
"The Second Amendment: America's Original Homeland Security"

got it. thanks - just didn't see it. What about your CCDW being attached to your license? When they run your number, does the CCDW show up?

If it's tied in to your local state Dl... it might show up on out of states searches as well... In Iowa It is NOT tied to our State DL... The WCP is given out by the County Sheriff... They all, in this state, as of this writing, do not have the technology to tie it in.
    It could be worse.
