Almost made at a friend's house

I was over at a female friend's house (not romantically involve....unfortunately) and we were going to do some work at her desk. I had my laptop and was setting it up. I had my Glock 26 concealed at about 5 o'clock and a loose fitting shirt on. She does not know that I carry, although she knows I am into guns.

As I bend over to plug in my laptop, she blurts out, "What is that in your back pocket?"

OK, I figured I got made, but, I have learned in dealing with women that it is best not to jump to conclusions.

    "What? Where?"

"Is that a...is that a knife in your back pocket?"

"Uh, ya. I always carry a pocket knife. Comes in real handy when you have to open ice cream containers."

    Whew. Dodged that bullet.

If she was checking out your butt, maybe she'd like to be romantically involved as much as you would. Just a thought.

I think I'll use that if I ever get made.

Reminds me of a time my Grandpa was building an outhouse at a piece of family property he was building a cabin on. One fine weekend he brought the new toilet seat and forgot the drill so he could bolt it down. Two rounds of .45 and the job was done!

If you carry at 5 o'clock, that will happen...recommend you adjust the position of your holster...it's also better to defend against a gun grab....just my 2 cents.

Why does it matter if she did see the gun? What if she spun around and said.. "Did you notice the CCO on MY hip?"
There are many many threads about this sort of thing, I just do not understand them. Yes I carry concealed, and yes I do my best that it is NOT seen. But I do not fear that it might happen.
So many people here will say that they do not go to places where they cannot carry... or will not shop where they cannot carry... My rights are more important... stuff like that, but then they fear getting seen with a gun?
Is it just a personal contest to not get made? or do people fear that a relationship will be ruined?

I'm with Sled. As long as I am legal, I don't worry about being made, or printing, or whatever. I believe I was made a year ago when I stopped at a gas station in Virginia (just off I-95), and noticed my shirt was hiked up over my OWB P226. A couple old ladies in a car at the pump behind me were giving me a big stare.

As I finished my business at the gas station and drove back to I-95, a state trooper wheeled in behind me, followed me for two exits, then gets off the exit as I continue down the road. I'll bet the old birds called in a MWAG, the cops ran my NC tags to learn both occupants had a CHP, and drove off.
