Them badges do no good at all and CAN do harm... proof

I had to laugh when I found this little blurb. Now... I do know this Griffin guy. Not well but he is pretty well known lawyer around here and has had some dealings with the family and his dad was a Doctor that my in laws knew very well. I can probably say that he is the victim of slander here as I sort of know something about the situation and the guy he is fighting here. But still... you would think a lawyer would know better than to have a badge for his Concealed Weapon permit right? Come on little Charlie... read up here dude! There is nothing can come of a badge for CWP but no good. You're living proof of this I think.

Griffin admits that he has worn a badge, but denies giving people the impression that he is a cop. He said that when he questioned the Monteparas’ neighbors, he identified himself as a lawyer. He said he was doing it because he is acting as an attorney in that libel case involving Driver and Freemantle. He says the badge that he wears sometimes is a badge indicating that he has a concealed-weapons permit.

Hilarious eh? And you know... its fairly obvious he probably intended for those neighbors he was questioning to think he was an LEO.... its hard to believe he truly felt the need then to wear a CWP badge. Ok... well... sure Charlie.

And lawyers are supposed to be intelligent people.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

    Based on what criteria?

Of the lawyers I have had conversation with, I'd say it's about 50/50.

Yes, these days a badge is either a 'shield' or a plastic neck decoration. Some LEOs display both. Virtually all LEOs have both issued to them.

There is just a certain mystique associated with a shield that some people cannot resist having one for the flimsiest of reasons.

Just as I find it difficult to understand why more individuals choose not to retain a firearm to defend themselves, I find it equally difficult to understand why ANYONE would want to display a CCW badge.
It can only get one into trouble, so what's the point? I guess you could wear it around the house.

Careful guys... we got lawyers around here, too. They ain't all bad, quick tempered maybe, but not all bad.
But one that uses a badge to get information, well that's just weird.
And my namesake in the article sheds bad light on the rest of us regular Charlies!

I like to wear my CCW badge as I run around my house at night dressed as Batman. Sadly they don't make Underoos in my size : (
