My fiance said she wants her permit!

I joined the Army and left for training in October. My fiance was used to having me around always with my gun on my person or on my nightstand when we were sleeping. Since I have been gone for 2 months she said she has taken a big interest in being able to defend herself because I am not always going to be here to protect her. She wants a Glock 26 to carry, she wants to start looking at holsters and she wants to take her ccw class asap!:danceban: I was completely shocked when she said she wanted to start carrying! She has always gone shooting with me and hunting with her dad so she has never disliked guns. But she would always tell me that she wasn't completely comfortable with carrying because she didn't know if she could pull the trigger if she had too....but apparently those feelings are passed that and I am going to get her signed up for the class asap!

That is great that she wants to share the concealed carry lifestyle with you. My wife is close to getting her CPL and a new carry gun. It definitely helps with spending quality time together when you share a common interest and lifestyle choice. We are looking at courses now that cover home defense for couples. Team skills and drills covering making a plan together, storage/access issues, clearing the house. I can't wait to get going on it, sounds like a lot of fun.

Is the HD course specifically designed for couples? Where did you find that?

Yeah, there is a new shop in my area that is building a two story shoot-house and an airsoft force-on-force training area. They are offering courses specifically for couples in HD roles, very cool. They are still in the process of building out the new space and I can't wait till it is done. It is the first of it's kind around here that is not restricted to LEO and/or military use. Of course there is quite a bit of training and dry-run practice before you get to go live in the shoot-house but it will be well worth the time and effort.

Another cool thing they do is league nights during the week were you get forward of the firing line and incorporate obstacles, multiple targets and low/no light conditions. I will be getting in on that as soon as there is an opening in January. Much more practical than paper punching and you get to meet some really cool, like-minded people.

Nothing like a GF or wife (you may only have one) with a permit...now if I could just get my wife to carry.:rolleyes:

As soon as I sell my truck I am buying her a G26 and myself a G23!
