Well, that describes me, except no one thinks I'm a gentleman.

I clean my carry pistol, a CZ75B, at the range before I leave - just because I don't want a pistol that smells like it was just fired in my holster, if I get stopped on my way home (and there was an incident of some sort and the police are looking for a bad guy).

I shoot a Smith .22 pistol a lot, and my Springfield .45 a lot, but only at the range and don't carry them - they are cased, in a range bag, for transportation. A pretty good Bullseye shooter, with a lot of experience with the .45, told me to clean it every 2-300 rounds and not be so serious about cleaning it after every trip to the range. His advice seems to work ok.

A pistol in your holster needs to be reliable and ready to go, with no excuses. Clean yours as much or as little as you are comfortable with.

    Regards,
    Andrew

Hey I found a neat product. It is like baby wipes, only for your pistol. So after wearing your firearm all day you can wipe it down before you put it away for the night. The stuff lubricates and helps prevent rust. Still not a full fledged cleaning, but if you want something quick to take the sweat off it is great.

I try to clean weapons after every firing, with some success at that schedule. Exceptions do occur (single shot thru a 22LR, etc.). I don't clean them as often as I should!

    Rock and Glock,
The wipes I am using are called "Weapon Wipes". They are made by a company called Break-Free out of Jacksonville Fl. I couldn't find an address or phone number, but they probably have a website. I got them at my local indoor range. Hope that helps.

I carry one of three Glocks, and I clean them after every range trip, which is anywhere from once a week to once a month. Usually I shoot off between 100 and 250 rounds per gun each trip.

I change my carry ammo about once a year...if you keep it dry, it should last for several years, but why take a chance? Some "experts" have said it is good for 4 or 5 years, but I just can't bring myself to leave it in there that long...my life may depend on it some day.

Bud, that is exactly what I mean. Did you get your pic from a site that you could order from? I would be interested in comparing prices.

I clean after every range trip. I also have an oily rag that I use to wipe down the finish with every couple of days. Helps to prevent rust.
Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!
