Don
* Applied in person to Ft.Waton office on 9/20/2012
* Received permit in the mail 10/1/2012
Great turnaround time. Appointment in person took maybe 15 minutes. It definitely pays to go directly to a regional office.
I was so excited I had to make a Walmart visit...After all it is tradition. :)
Permit received on October 1st. Issue Date was 09-25-2012.
Should my first outing be to Walmart? I understand its tradition.
I decided to get my FL permit as well. Mailed yesterday: 10/9.
Mailed paper work july 27... was just accepted 2 days ago... should be here next week.
I mailed mine 6/16 sent me back error for fingerprint card sent that back on 08/14 and it still says being processed.
Florida is really on top of the ball with CCW permits. They are a model for other states.
A friend and I went to the licensing office in Orlando on the same day. You do your application, electronic fingerprints, and photo. One stop shopping. I had it in 10 days. Unfortunately for my bud, they rejected his because they needed him to redo the fingerprints. He had to go to the Sheriffs office (no charge) so he was delayed another 2 weeks.
Just made my appt in Tampa, soonest they had was late Nov! Grrrrrr, but I've got my appt.
Anyone know of other offices near Tampa, Sarasota, Brandon?
I submitted my application on 8-18-2012
Today 10-24-2012 marks 69 Days (Tomorrow will be & weeks).
The only phone number I have goes to a voice menue that simply says it is being processed.
That number is 850-245-5691.
Those of you who got to speak to someone, would you please post the phone number(s) you used that gave you a live person and not a voice menu + recorded message ?
Thank you.
I love paying for my ccw I did it twice LOL not really. I got my permit 6 years ago took 6-8 weeks through pony express. Like the procrastinator I am I didn't renew it in time with the 6 month grace period. Went last on the 12th to the tampa office. I was told 10 days to 3 weeks. I'm hoping I get it in the mail tomorrow.
?? I had mine in 5 business days.
I dont see why ANY state cant do the same if one state can. It makes me sad to see people watching their mailboxes for weeks on end, into months. IMO, there is no excuse for that at the state or county level.
I dont imply that FL is that slow, but some states are.
I made an appointment at the division of licensing in Orlando and had it in my hands 13 days later.
