    Question about Florida/Georgia Reciprocity

Hi, I've searched for this but can't find a definitive answer. Can a Florida resident who holds a CWP from Florida purchase a handgun in Georgia, without having to do the FFL transfer? Thanks...

Simple answer, no. In order to legally purchase a hand gun out of state it must be transferred to your home state FFL. I have done this before a couple of times, I have the gun shop call my local gunshop and set up the transfer then just pay for the weapon plus transfer fees.

No. Federal law governs here - no interstate transfer of a handgun is permitted except FFL to FFL.
Battle Plan (n) - a list of things that aren't going to happen if you are attacked.
Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

I know....... I live right on the GA/FL border. There's some great deals just down the road in Jacksonville sometimes. :(

There's not much problem doing a FFL to FFL transfer if the deals are that much better. Most FFLs will do a transfer in for you for $10-$15. The Selling dealer may do the transfer out for free, or just the cost of postage.

If you're interested in collectibles (usually 50yrs. old or older), then you can get yourself a C&R FFL and buy collectible guys while you're out of state with it on the spot. You can also buy them online and have them shipped directly to your house.
