Locking up the guns for a while....

Well, it is time to lock up all the guns, I won't be carrying for a while.

Was diagnosed with cancer a month ago after a mass in my left side was removed, it was dioagnosed and my treatments have already started.

All the side effects they said might not hit me for a few weeks have already surfaced, they feel my weakened condition from the surgery might be the reason.

Being too tired to think straight means no concealed carry until my brain gets back into the game and I can think clearly again.

I'll keep on keeping on and checking the board, it sure helps to pass a lot of time !

    Y'all be careful out there.

    Dave

Sorry to hear the bad news about the cancer (and sidenote, guns)

My thoughts and prayers are with you.....
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

Many of us will have you in our prayers. Prayers work. I know from experience, so keep positive.

Your guns will be there when you are ready...take care of yourself and don't rush the healing process. You'll be shooting and carrying before you know it!

Dave - that is not good to hear - and sorry for your predicament.

We will all tho ''pull'' for you - in my case the power of positive thinking - bit like prayer I guess really

Do keep coming in to join your friends here and enjoy the info and banter. I guess you deem it wise to hang up the irons for now but hope once treatment stabilizes you can get back to normal carry.

You are among friends - remember that.

Well everyone's said it, but I'll be praying for you too! Jas 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

God wasn't surprised by this and He loves you.

DaveT...hang in there, you'll get your guns back; make it a goal as you go through treatment.

My cancer meant a marrow transplant in 2002. One of the guys who I met as he helped me through it as a transplant nurse is now my best shooting buddy. As I went through it, we talked about shooting IDPA together when I got well, and the next summer we started doing just that.

Visualize getting back into shooting and carry, and you'll do it!
