Knucklehead in Utah Forgets First Rule of Firearms Safety

People like this make all of us look idiots....

CENTERVILLE, Utah (AP) - Police in Centerville say a woman and a 2-year-old boy were accidentally shot and wounded by the boy's father, who was giving a gun demonstration at home.

Police Lt. Paul Child says the man was sitting with his mother-in-law and son Monday evening and demonstrating how to handle a pistol when he pulled the trigger.

Child says the 32-year-old man thought the gun was unloaded at the time.

Police say a bullet struck the 54-year-old woman's calf, then hit the boy in the foot.
Emergency responders say both are expected to recover.

Unload, check chamber, check chamber, check chamber, check chamber, then check the chamber. After that, check the chamber.

    To "Brain-Dead in Utah" -

Thanks for the great publicity, pal. It's just what we needed right about now.

Oh, jeez! I have often thought this scenario out. If my mother-in-law, young nieces, nephews, or others in the family bring it up and I have to show them just how safe guns are, how many times and ways to make sure the gun is unloaded? At least one more than necessary.

Don't point any weapon, loaded or unloaded, at anything you do not want to shoot! Keep your booger hook off of the trigger!

In his defense, he might have been aiming for his mother-in-law. I'll wait for more details before forming an opinion.

I'd make sure mine was in the clear and no one else was harmed!

The boy might have been accidentally shot , but he still should know better; a person’s calf cannot stop a bullet

MORON, stupid is as stupid does. Guess he never heard of basic firearms safety rules Treat every gun as if it is loaded, never point the muzzle of at anything you don't want to destroy, keep muzzle in safe direction at all times. Again.... MORON !!!!
