I fish from a boat or a u-tube most of the time. When in the boat I carry my P89 in a Fobus paddle holster. In the tube it fit's in one of the zipperd storage compartment's & stay's dry there.

That too might be good. What would you recommend for a good "fish" load? I was thinking a mixture of Smoke Flavored Salt, Brown Sugar, and some Dill Weed. Any other ideas for a load that might have some "knockdown power"?

I'd reccomend a used .357....doesn't have to be pretty and you won't be overly concerned with "gunking" it up or getting it wet. It will offer a HUGE advantage in stopping power and you can trust it to go BANG every time.

S&W Model 60 Stainless. 357 Mag power in a fairly small package. I carry it in the inside chest pocket of my waders. I've never gotten it wet (yet!) but that is what cleaning is for if it does happen. I take it in the kayak too.

    time to go hunting

Well, it looks like I need to go hunting for a good used .357 wheel-gun. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a .44 mag too. Thanks for all the advice. I've been looking for an excuse for a new gun anyhow. Since I do a fair amount of backpacking and other outdoor activities (including hunting), I might even look at a Taurus Tracker in .44mag or a S&W Mountain gun. Then again, a snubby would be nice........hmmmm. Why do you make me choose?!! Guess I'll have to get one of each.

Personally I would go with the smoke flavored salt , Lemon Pepper , A bit of dill , And butter , mix thourally and set in fridge till firm , then cut " flechettes " from the mixture for even seasoning LOL
