When carrying in a civilian capacity.
-It is a seriously scary thought that there are subsets of American society that think being intellectual is a BAD thing...
Primary EDC is a Glock 19 w/two xtra mags.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
One extra mag for my G27.

It's not popular, but I go without a reload a lot. My work makes it very hard to dress around.
The other part is how badly it affects my state of mind. I know a guy that claims to carry seven reloads for a Colt OACP. When you put the seventh mag in your pants, you've just said, "if 50 rounds don't solve the problem, here's seven more". Fifty seven rounds of .45acp to get a haircut, or bacon? If I really thought the world outside my door was that bad, I would just sit in a corner and cry.
I carry a mouse gun at work because my biggest fear there is a carjacking, but I carry a big gun in the truck to go in and out the house in case of home invasion. So I guess my reload is the NY style.
Can you imagine being so in fear for your life you pulled a gun and started shooting, then needed a time out to reload?
I'm not a lawyer or a LEO, just a pantload with a computer.
two for each weapon i have on me, would that count as just two?

Most of the time, I carry two reloads for each gun I carry.
However, since I'm usually carrying two hi-capacity pistols (compact and sub-compact autos), sometimes I'll only carry one spare reload for the BUG, which is a 16 round mag. (always two spares for the primary)

I only carry one extra magazine for my Kahr PM9 or Kahr P380. If I'm carrying my Glock 19, I usually don't carry an extra magazine.
One if it's the Glock. If it's the snub it's two.

When EDC my G23 no reloads on person and 1 extra mag in the vehicle. When EDC my 642 I carry one reload.
No reloads - I always carry factory ammo ;)
Seriously, it depends what I am carrying. Usually at least 1 mag or speed loader, but could be more if the mag is low count.

1 mag and it is more counter balance than anything. My work environment typically will get just enough dirt/grit in the spare mag to make it useless after the first round after a day or two. Have unload & clean 3-4x week.
On hiatus.
Hit my limit for speculation, the sky is falling, and gun owners fighting amongst themselves.

It varies with what I carry, but usually 1 spare magazine.

'Most' of the time, i.e. out and about in town or small, quick trips.....one extra mag for my G23.
If I'm traveling any 'real distences', then I'll grab a couple-few extra mags. I 'almost' always have one reload mag on me though.
