40 years of carrying
I just realized this is my 40th year of carrying concealed. It happened just a little while ago as I put on my 1911. It was my 1st new 1911 purchased in 1971. It has been customized, rebuilt twice and refinished a few more times but it works better than the day I got it. I can not say that about me after carring it (plus many others) for 40 years. I should have been born a 1911, I would be in better shape.

I've got 38 years carrying (most of it as part of my jobs) and still enjoy quality firearms and shooting as much as I did when I first started.
I can appreciate both the older weapons I began with and the newer ones available now, but still lean toward the 1911s as my favorites.

Congrats! I started carrying late in life. I'm just glad I made it through the unarmed years.

About 26+ years of carrying[civilian,LEO and military(full/part-time)]and it is such a part of my routine now that when I don't carry I feel "naked". Better to have a gun and not need it,than need a gun and not have it !

Only been carrying 36 years, started out with a USAF issued 2 inch S&W Model 10 and still enjoy shooting the pre-lock Smiths. I also have gravitated to the 1911 platform and carry them as an EDC.

I've got you beat, 46 years, so far. I've been carrying concealed and open, depending on the job since I was 18 years old. As long as I can see the target and hit it to qualify I'll keep my LEOSA permit, when I can't do that, I'll keep my Delaware permit, don't have to qualify for it.
