It's not surprising that most of the models on the web site have their backs turned to the camera. They'd die of embarrasment if anyone recognized them!

Instead of "CCW" they need to put "IDIOT" on them.

    HOE - LEE - CRAP !!!

    Tell me this isn't real....

PLUS - how the heck can it be the law that "concealed means concealed", we aren't even allowed to so much as PRINT through a garment, but it would be somehow OK to wear a banner that says "I'VE GOT A GUN LOOK IT'S RIGHT HERE".

I think the concept is that you put it on as the incident is going down; or right after, before the police arrive - - but, yeah, it is still stupid, just the same.

Well it appears that one of these sashes even won some sort of industry award...

    --------------------

    Body Armor & Safety

    Winner: Brownells, QD-360-ID

“The QD-360-ID is a fluorescent yellow-green banner that identifies a non-uniformed officer during emergency situations. The identification banner stows inconspicuously and conveniently in a compact belt pouch that looks like a cell phone carrier and is easily deployed using the non-shooting hand.”

    Finalists
    •Brite-Strike Technologies, Inc., APALS-AIR
    •Winter Walking, ICEGRIPS

Yeah, but this Innovation Award is from Officer.com . . . an LEO-dedicated forum. It is probably for a sash saying, "POLICE" for off-duty officers who carry a badge. I have no issues with something like this for off-duty LEOs . . no more than I would for them carrying a badge on a chain around their neck when something is going down and they aren't in uniform.

My heartburn is with the CCW banners (and badges). Apples & oranges, in this case.

I'm getting one. Going to keep it right there next to my CCW badge..NOT
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

Anyway (just in case it hasn't been linked here before): Introducing the DSM (that's "Don't Shoot Me") Safety Sash. (Personally, I'd choose the one that simply says "ARMED." It'd look great walking around at WalMart). Later.
