Woman said she had a gun and wasnt afraid to use it in walmart.

A strange thing happen yesturday, me and my wife had just went in walmart and as we were walking and talking to each other a lady in scrubs says "You see something funny soemthing in our direction so i turn to see who she's talking to well its apparantly me and or my wife "i know i shouldnt have done it but calling my wife a somethingpissed me off" so i said something what is wrong with you we wasnt talking or looking at you whats ur problem ,she mubles for a while and says something else as she swings her purse around we just walk off to do our shopping, my wife says i cant belive she just said that ? i said what she said didnt u hear her "me no"
my says the lady said "she had a gun and wasnt afraid to use it" as she swung her purse around so i went back to the lady with walmart personal and i ask her did you just threaten me with a gun?
she no u can search my purse and holds it out to me i told her no i would not search it and walked off.

I know i didnt do what maybe i should have but damn we didnt do a thing to provoke this and had i not had my weapon i would have said/cussed more about this nut case, walmart workers heard this threat from start to end and didnt even call the police.

I guess its a good thing i didnt hear the woman say that cause i would have been a little on edge with her digging at her purse.

    PEOPLE ARE CRAZY.

btw if you dont like my grammer dont say a word just move on............
there are way to many grammer cops online.

    haha

I haven't committed Wal-Mart in a long time, the client-el and demographic there scares me. Try a nice target next time.

There realy are a lot of nuts out there, and in the situation you were in, I try not to add myself to the list of nuts. From time to time, I have had people make such a statement to me. Back before I would CC, I was likely to get LE involved (someone being a nut and making some statement that they have a firearm). Oddly, now that I cc, I am less likely to get LE. Not because I can take care of myself now that I am armed, just because it complicates matters when you are armed and LE gets involved, because it is up in the air who LE would side with.

It is an odd part of cc. When dealing with nuts, you can't always be as agressive as before, because if LE get involved, you don't know what direction it will take.

Sometimes cc is a disadvantage when dealing with people. Sometimes I'm greatful, as it helps keep my temper in check.

Once, I returned to my car, unarming, then returned to deal with the nut (family function where I could not just walk away, and an adult nut was picking on children at a park's swings). When I asked the guy to leave, he said he had the right to say what he wanted and he had the "ability to defend himself." We called LE, and as LE were on the way I put my snub in the trunk. It was a tough call to deside if I need to be armed (due to threat) or if an added conversation about being armed with LE was worth it.

A friend of mine also cc, so when I went to the car, he keep an eye on the guy. I took over with the nut before LE showed up (now being unarmed). My friend did not miss a beat, he knew to step up when I said I had to "use the rest room", keep the guy looking the other way (so he would not see me go to the car), then faded when I returned. Both of us wanting to get LE involved, but not have that conversation while at the same time stating to LE that we were armed.

Later, someone had asked my friend if he thought I was getting my gun (something one of the mothers thought I was doing). He laughed and said no, he knew what I was thinking the whole time, and was greatful to know I leave him out of the picture when LE arrived.

When LE showed up, they let me know the understood why they had been called, that the guy was weird, that they were going to escort him out of the park (the park employee asked the guy to leave). It was a fine line and a 35 year old with no children allegedly teasing children was very odd. The guy was not armed, had no record, so it was difficult how to take the alleged threat, and the best they could do was to escort the guy and they would be hanging around the area for the next few hours. I noticed LE patroling (even an added LE car showed up).

    Sometimes being armed has disadvantages.

You shouldn't have turned around and engaged the woman in conversation. When you carry you have to swallow your pride.

Learn from your mistake. If the woman had a gun and was a bonafide nutjob then having a shootout in Walmart and the resulting "Cleanup on Isle 4" just because your wife was called a nasty name would be a bad situation to find yourself in.
Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!

    +1

Understand why you reacted (and might have found myself in the same situation just as a matter of reaction). At the same time, you have to prep yourself, as being a little more passive sometimes when you cc can be the best option.

My family and I boycotted Target when they no longer allowed Toys for Tots in their stores due to the connection with the US Marines.

As for the majority of the replies would probably agree. "An armed society is a polite society." This isn't just for our benefit, it's also for the knuckleheads trying to start trouble you don't want to have to stop.

It seems that certain walmarts around here attract that fruits and nuts. Hickory WM is terrible. It got so bad they started closing at midnight because of the late night fights. Granite Falls WM has never been a problem. Was this Lenior or Granite Falls?

That's hard to follow what's going on, in that story.
