dis-arm whoops while driving
hello, taking a little road trip from Oklahoma to Lawrence Kansas and beyond, and I have to stop at the border to dis-arm, so I take out my mag and put it in my pocket and put my CZ in a lockable car safe secured in my trunk and go on my way. I go about 30-40 miles before I realize (with horror :) that I didn't rack the slide to eject the round in the chamber! Got to the next available place to stop and did unload the round, making me feel a whole lot better just in case I did get stopped and checked for any reason.
anyways, its been a while since I haven't carried and it feels wierd, I can't wait till I get to S. Dakota so I'll be able to carry again. I'm at Sioux City Iowa as I write this, so not too much further! Iowa has the best rest areas so far, complete with free wireless access, thats nice of them!

Tho not in same area of oops - reminds me of the .22lr round I found floating around in my carry-on bag as I approached airport security !!

Oops is right.
But not as right as the assertion that the CCW laws of Neb. and Kansas (though recently made better) are stupid as hell.
I won't go to Kansas.

know the feeling. I used to keep a full mag in the AR while in the safe. after a few trips to the range realizing I forgot to take it out before transport, I now just keep the mag next to it.

Yeah, I kept my AR like that for awhile, until one time I forgot to remove the mag before traveling.
Glad nothing serious came of your "oops"

OOPS are mostly correctable, The OH MY GAWD's are what you have to be regretable about.
