It came!! It finally came! *laughs manically*

I got my D and G license in the mail last week and yesterday my CWFL arrived. I won't be carrying yet as I don't own any firearms, but I went ahead and got it just in case one of the knives I carry doesn't fall into the category of "common pocket knife." I think they're pretty normal, but the law is vague and I don't want to end up in a debate over the definition with a Sheriff's Deputy, lol.

Plus when I do start buying firearms, don't I get to skip the NICS check if I have a permit?

I don't know about FL., bu in many states it won't help you with a knife. Firearm is a firearm, not a knife. If you are not positive, check and be sure. But congrats on all the licence's.
    What is a D and G ???

In Florida it is a Concealed Weapons and Firearms License and covers firearms, knives, stunguns, tasers, and billy clubs.

D is a Security Guard license and the G is the State Firearms License.

Is 1966 the year you went to 'Nam? My uncle was over there in the Navy. He was on the Forrestal when they had the fire in '67.

Florida gun laws are not vague, and you would do yourself well to become very familiar with them. This is the first thing you do prior to strapping on a weapon for SD/HD.OMOYMV

The last Blood Moon Tetrad for this millennium starts in April 2014 and ends in September 2015...according to NASA.

I already have. I was just talking about the definition of a common pocket knife. There isn't any standard. It just says "common pocket knife."
