Haven't heard it yet, but anybody catch his interview with "The 700 Club" last year?

He got screwed over by his LEO supervisors IIRC regarding his disability income and was about to go to prison for violating a condition against some type of work. He was on his way across town armed with a rifle to seek some lead revenge when God spoke to him.

So Gabe Suarez admitted being moments away from being a mass cop killer.

I don't bring this up to slam him. I like the guy. Just thought it was interesting.

So here is one of the most respected and innovative firearms trainers in the world. And probably one of the first who would have his 2A rights snatched away by the government if they ever moved toward more aggressive psych checks.

Yep, they will be locking this one down too. I know that I have had disagreement with the Suarez group, but if the man did something wrong, paid back his dues and done his time, I do not think it should be held against him. I know I have made my share of stupid things, so I would judge on the value of his training as offered rather than past history.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.

Meh. I've never been a fan of him. I'll pass on the interview.

^^^^^^^^ This. Too many people that haven't rehabilitated even with the help available to be caring too much about those that did the rebuild and went ahead with it.

I listened to the podcast in question and thought it was quite interesting.

As far as morals go, well if the best knifework instructor in the world happened to be an ex-con from Joliet, I sure wouldn't let that stop me from trying to learn what he has to offer.

Suarez is a little extreme in his training and attitude for some, but everything he teaches is focused on the goal of getting you and your family home safely every time. A lot of the stuff he says is stuff that most of us think, but rarely voice.

I'm not a Suarez fanboy, but I do agree with a lot of what he teaches.
