Just got home from first time cc. Wife went to Wal Mart with me and just watched to let me know if I was acting different. She knows me better than anybody so she would know. She says at first i seemed nervous but by the time we left she forgot that I was carrying. I need to watch my hands because I couldnt keep from checking to make sure my shirt wasnt up. Hopefully over time this will be a non issue. Over all a good experiance.
I did the Wallyworld walk as my first place to CC, congrads, keep safe and keep carrying in a few months you'll forget you even have it and get pissed when you find places that you cant carry for me thats work...(military base)
Attention Walmart Concealed Carry Customers there is a special on all types of ammo please walk and do not clang your way over to sporting goods Thank you for shopping Walmart....
any idiot who tries to knock-over our Walmart will have a line up of people waiting there turn to get a bead on the BG..
Congrats! Just some advice.. people will stare at you more when you are acting suspicious. LOL. They aren't going to know you're carrying but I'm sure they are wondering why you keep pulling your shirt down.
I just submitted my application to the state so I have a few months but I already have my IWB holster and started wearing it places without my sr9c, that way I break the leather on the holster in, and get used to the feel of the holster in general, but I've already noticed that I touch it and pull my shirt down more then usual, so hopefully by the time I can officialy carry I'm not so self concious about it. As soon as I get home I put my gun back in the holster so I can get used to the extra weight of it....but I'm sure Walmart will be the first place I go.
First off Wally World is definitely a place one would want to cc!!! Especially if it is like the WW we have which is right off a major interstate exit!! Most people are clueless. The last thing they are thinking is "gun". I can take my teenage kids with me shopping or on errands. They know if have the permit. They never have figured out that I actually am.
Congrats! Remember: You KNOW you're carrying. No one else does. You will notice "tells" on other inexperienced carriers. No one else will. Don't stress yourself out. I carry OWB in with a sweater ALL THE TIME without anyone EVER noticing. Most anti-gun people don't even look for signs. You're safe. (and completely legal!) Carry on, brother. Carry on.
It isn't that it is dangerous, it is a crowded public place to go to get used to carrying concealed. Lighten up!
