Lousy thing to happen. I HATE having to disarm in a vehicle. This was completely avoidable, but I am not ready to through this guy to the wolves over it. I am sure that he will take his time in the future and do the job right.
We simply CANNOT treat our firearms like a cell phone or wallet. Respect the damage a ND can do to your life, and keep that in mind any time you are handling your firearm.
Just wondering why he needed to clear his weapon. If he couldnt carry at the movie theater why not just remove the gun and holster and lock it away in the car. Unless he was carrying Mexican.
I haven't been near the Mousetrap for quite a while. I've never noticed any "No Firearms" signs there before, but maybe now, huh?
Does the Mousetrap not fall under the "places that sells admission" law where you can not carry? I could be wrong. Not up to date on Florida law.Quote:

I fail to see why he felt he had to unload the weapon. Why not just disarm and lock it away? Out of all the semi-auto's that I've owned, I've never had one go off while loading/unloading the gun. It must be a faulty booker hooker. They don't go off just by dropping a magazine, and I've never seen one go off just from racking the slide and ejecting the "last remaining" round in the gun (chamber). Again, why not just disarm and lock it away?

Maybe he was trying to be extra careful, in a sense that if the vehicle was broken into, and the weapon found, it would not be loaded AND stolen.
It is a Glock. For field stripping you have to pull the trigger. Maybe he was rushed and nervous and forgot which drill he was doing.
