This is also a question I would like to see answered. If there is a school that teaches a course for it, those who carry with an empty chamber may be taken a little more seriously.

From what I've read, you would benefit greatly.

    Nice question

Who would've expected a rhetorical question from a lawyer?

No thanks. Maybe one of the other three that carry unchambered want to continue this discussion, but I've pretty much worn it out. I spent four years carrying a .45 in the Army, but I didn't carry it concealed, so I'm ineligible anyway.

I don't think even the Israelis still do the Israeli method.

Probably not. But, you know what they say "old habits die hard".

The instructions in my Hi-Points and Cobras say not to carry with a round in the chamber. But I lost the manual that came with my Captain Midnight decoder ring.

I would like to see a list of training from all the people who have had ND of their firearms. Seems there is no shortage of those stories popping up, Walmarts, LEO's in courthouses, old folks in church etc. Maybe some of those folks would have been better off with an empty chamber.

Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

The Military would rather have a soldier killed trying to chamber a round than have to fill out the mountain of paperwork to explain a ND,I carried a Model 15 S&W USAF Security Police mid to late 70's,If we drew our weapon in the line of duty or chambered a round in our M16we better have a damn good reason.I remember during a training exercise to prevent the theft of a 207-10 resource they kicked off the alert and we responded to the Armory to check out our weapons, the"Agressors" had set up an M60 across from the issue windows, there were about 30 guys getting guns, blank ammo etc. when they opened up,by the time we regrouped and in reality I don't think anybody would have survived without being hit, nobody had chambered a round and returned fire. Some great Security Training, were getting shot at and asking if we have permission to chamber a round and return fire..The only time in 2 years I ever chambered a round was on the firing range.

I believe the Israeli method was specifically designed to prevent NDs, given that many who carried (at the time) have very little experience with firearms.

I think I still have the training film.

It might exist, but I am not aware of any school that teaches to carry unchembered. I think people shall carry their firearms in the condition they want; it is their business and their lives. But, Like people use to say, "Why turn your handgun into a handsgun?"
