    Pocket Carry

I just got a PF9 and one of the main reasons for doing so was to have a pocket-carryable pistol. I'd love to hear from those more experienced than I who EDC in the pocket about where you keep the rest of their stuff (Cell, wallet, keys, smokes, knife, light, etc.). I have been carrying all my stuff a certain way so long, it's hard for me to think about where to move it to accommodate a firearm. I am right-handed and do have a pocket-holster. Thanks!

Well I have never pocket carried, I usually go IWB myself with my G19. Im still not sure what I want to do with my new bodyguard 380. Anyway...I feel the PF9 is just a little big for pocket carry. Of course I have a pretty average frame and do tend to wear jeans a little tighter in those areas (though I make sure my pants hide my IWB well). Somebody a little bigger wearing baggier pants might pull it off. Im also not a big fan of the PF9 and will probably sell mine but that is a whole different topic.

I have had a PF-9 and did both pocket carry and IWB carry I prefer the IWB carry just because for me its more comfortable and you can draw from sitting down and the PF-9 is light however it still move around.

If you do go with pocket carry I suggest you get a bills urban wallet or something so you can combine somethings into that with out having to leave stuff at home. That is what I did when I was pocket carrying.

I pocket carried for years. My cell is in a holster on my belt. My keys, knife and extra speed loader are in my left pocket. I buy either Croft and Barrow or Docker shorts(@ Kohls), they have big pockets. And my gun of choice goes in my right pocket.

I must say, I appendix carry a lot now, and I like it more. Easier to draw my gun I feel. Good luck.

I carry my PF9 more than any CCW I own due to its smaller size. I have the belt clip on it that I sometimes use, but most of the time I have it in an IWB custom made kydex holster with a cutout to allow the belt clip to remain on the gun when holstered. With this setup I can carry IWB in the holster or IWB with the belt clip without the holster, back pocket carry, front pocket carry or carry OWB but under belt making it a very versatile carry gun for me. It is currently in that kydex holster at 3o'clock OWB but under my belt as I type now.

I used to pocket carry with an LCP then my PM9, got sick of losing a pocket so I switched to a SmartCarry - but now use a Silent Thunder IWB whenever possible/practical.

I usually carry a money clip with bills in my right front pocket. In the left are my keys and any loose change.

When I carry my LC9 in a pocket holster, I simply move my money clip to the left pocket.

The things that otherwise go in my right pocket are keys and chapstick. The chapstick joins my cellphone in my left pocket, and my keys move to a leather key hanger thingy on my belt (the hanger is one of the ones that the Beltman sells).

I have a wallet that stays in my back left pocket. I used to have it in my right back pocket, but then someone mentioned something about being able to draw and grab your wallet at around the same time. I thought that made sense, so I made the change.

Im actually currently trying to downsize what I have to have on me for this exact reason. When I do carry, not at work, everything has to be readjusted. Right now my cell actually goes inside my wallet and then I have keys and a flashlight as well all left side.

Ive decided to move the flashlight to my bugout/emt bag thats always on me and am downsizing the wallet as well to a very small card carrier with room for about 5 bills as well. With the keys and some medication I must carry the pockets weigh and look about the same. Right side bodyguard .380, left side keys, wallet, phone, meds.

We tend to carry what is comfortable. I've decided to get one of the small 9mm's and will make my choice soon.

I very rarely pocket carry because my pockets are usually full of keys, cell phone, wallet, etc. No room for a gun, at least not without something getting scratched up.

However - I recently bought my first pair of "Cargo" shorts that have the extra pockets down lower on your thigh. My little Taraus TCP 738 actually fits rather nicely there. However, I still don't do it because these shorts have buttons on the pockets which take too long to get to the gun. However, I saw some people wearing some similar shorts the other day that had velcro pockets. Now I've been looking for some like that, even some cargo pants I can wear during winter. I think that would give me an excellent alternative to traditional holster. Unfortunately, I will have to look elsewhere because Target and Wal Mart seem to only carry the button style and that is where I usually buy all of my shorts and pants. I know, I'm not all that cosmopolitan, huh?

I pocket carry very often with a smith and wesson airweight. I'm right handed, so the gun is in my right front pocket in a pocket holster. In my left front pocket are my keys, cellphone, and at least one speedloader, most of the time two. All of this weight helps to even out the weight of the gun as well, so my pants don't look lopsided. I carry a speed strip in my left back pocket, and wallet in my right back pocket. Most revolver reloads say to grab for the reload with your right hand which doesn't work, as I carry my reloads on the left side. I have found one technique that works well for reloading for me. If I carry a flashlight then I only carry one speedloader.

Regardless of what I carry (I carry differently depending on the days duties) I have switched from a clam shell formfactor phone to a very slim Motorola I1 that I can shirt pocket or butt pocket carry. My right front pocket is for pistola ONLY. Left pocket is spare ammo, Left rear pocket is for what ever is left. Often over looked is the watch pocket made in nearly all jeans. I use that for 2-3 keys or other tiny objects that do not interfere with access to the right front pocket. Knife and billfold in right rear pocket. Sometimes I only carry drivers license and firearm license in shirt pocket avoding the opportunity to loose my billfold while crawling around above/below ground.

I always have a pocket gun - either BUG and main depending on the situation. Wallet in back pocket, cell in shirt or other back pocket. Knife and light in opposite front pocket from gun. Keys go in back pocket when not in use. Leave the loose change at home.

    Gun and Holster only.
I usually have just keys, wallet, and a small folder in my front or side pockets so if I carry my j frame (with holster ) I just shift stuff to the other pocket.
