    3 People Scraped By Fragments

    POSTED: Friday, June 24, 2011


    MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. -- A gun went off Friday inside the Gibraltar Trade Center in Mount Clemens, injuring three people, the Macomb County Sheriff's Department said.

    Deputies said a customer was inspecting a gun that was on sale when it went off. A second shot was fired when the owner inspected the gun. Two women and a 10-year-old were scraped by fragments. They were treated and released.

    An investigation is continuing.

    I know I often have some off-the-cuff, witty remark to throw out, but I have to say I am utterly speechless. At the gun shows here, they allow NO loose ammunition, and all weapons are wired/zip-tied through the actions and all magazines are removed. How in all holy he** did this happen?

    Was at this gun show after the incident occurred. The Gibtaltar trade center is always having those carrying concealed checked but seems to be a bit lax on checking the dealers as this incident shows. Noticed numbers of guns on open display with no banding. A number of the dealers said this was not a dealer but someone selling his own collection of guns. Was told after the 1rst discharge by the female customer the owner removed the magazine but did not check the chamber and then for some unknown reason also pulled the trigger resulting in the second discharge. A case of dumb and dumber. Hear the seller is banned from any future shows and sheriff's department is investigating to see if they will charge him with anything

    Something just doesn't sound right about this. I can see 1 person being stupid enough to not inspect the magazine/chamber and firing the gun. But then the owned does the exact same thing, after the gun was fired? Even my cats are smarter than that!!!

    Sounds like the owner may be one of those guys that will tell you ya don't need to check it cause its unloaded,any gun coming into gun shows down here are tied with plastic ties
