I have my Ohio permit which covers a fair number of states. Is there another state I can apply for that would help to cover the rest of the country?

I think that FL would give you most of the South.![]()

Florida is a good option for a second permit; so is Utah.

Unfortunately no state will get you CO. We need to get an aggreement going between the states. Some state won't accept a non-res.

I got FL and this picked up all of the south from GA to TX plus PA. There may have been a few more, but those were the ones I was concerned about.

Since OH is honored in FL...I would recommend saving some money and getting Arizona instead. It will fill in those same southern states as the FL permit at half the cost for the initial 5 years...$60...then renewals are only $43. Fingerprints can be done by anybody whereas FL requires they be done by LEO. No picture is needed. Your OH permit will suffice for the training requirement. WHole process thru the mail takes about 2 weeks total.
Contact AZ DPS and they'll mail you a packet.
I really wish that MD had one that's easier - I mean possible - to get.....
I got New Hampshire and PA non-resident permits a couple of years ago that are easy to get with an Ohio CHL. However, I think PA changed the requirement and you have to apply in person rather than thru the mail. Also, NH raised their price from $20 to around $100 after I got my permit, so Florida is probably your best bet now for the cost vs number of states that honor it.![]()

PA is like 25$ and picks up alot...
I'd start with picking out the other states you are likely to visit and use the link RET provided to work my way backwards through the problem.

You can apply for a PA license in person at the Mercer County courthouse. It is about 45 minutes drive time past the shooting range at Grand River. Maybe next time we shoot you can zip over there and get the paperwork done.

I needed OH and WV so I selected FL as my second state because my CO traning was reconized in FL and not UT. I just applied to NV and had to take the traininf and apply in person.
