    First Weekend Carrying

After receiving my license after only about three weeks, (God bless Texas), I had ordered a PureKustom Black Ops Pro Holster for my 1911 that came in last Monday. I had also ordered a Center Of Mass Gun box for my car, so I was waiting on it to get here before I would carry, (didn't want to leave my gun locked in the glovebox).

Well I received my box on Friday and that same afternoon me and my girlfriend had a night out. We went to have lunch at Chili's and went and saw a movie followed by a trip to a Mall in Arlington. While at first I was somewhat nervous about being 'made' I quickly got over it due to my trust in the Holster I had.

I'm 6' 1" and 175lbs with a muscular build, and I found it very easy to conceal my 1911. While the first day carrying I was wearing a button up that when untucked flowed a bit, on Saturday I was at another mall as well as out and about with a tighter fitting T-Shirt that was not too long, and while I worried I would have problems with my gun showing, I experienced no problems. I also want to add that I made a 8 hour round trip drive to San Marcos to float the river with some friends and I wore my rig the entire way with it being totally comfortable.

All in all it was a great weekend.

I just love a good concealed carry story! Congrats on your first weekend carrying. I was a little nervous when I started carrying, but I quickly got over it. On a side note, I have carried a few times at that mall.

if you guys are talking about the Parks mall, then I have also been in there carrying at least 100 times over the years.

In response, yes it was the parks mall. It seems like each year it gets filled more and more with young wanna-be thugs just hanging around for trouble. Can't rely on the rent-a-cop security to protect me if shtf. I also forgot to mention I went to three different wal-marts trying to find Shiner in a can.

Good gun + good holster = great experience

Congrats on your first weekend. Hopefully you have many more uneventful weekends of carrying ahead of you.
