I have a carry question?
I don't have my CHL yet but I want to carry in my truck. The Texas Penal Code says that I can carry in my vehicle if i'm "traveling", but I can't find the legal definition of traveling? Is there a certain set mileage involved or anything like that? If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eddie

The Texas penal code title 10, chapter 46.15 (i) states in part:
(i) For purposes of Subsection (b)(3), a person is presumed to be traveling if the person is:
(1) in a private motor vehicle;
(2) not otherwise engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic;
(3) not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a firearm;
(4) not a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section 71.01; and
(5) not carrying a handgun in plain view.
Good luck.

Just don't depend on that law if you live or travel in Harris county. The DA here is a ***** and cannot understand plain and simple English.

And make sure the gun is concealed also it can not be on the seat, it has to be some place that it can not be seen.
If you keep your registration and insurance in your glove compartment don't keep your gun there so it does not fall out when you go to get that information.

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.
