    No Carry Places...

Alright, I noticed that a lot of people have said that if they find a place that doesn't allow carry that they wouldn't shop there. Well, I wouldn't either. I just don't know where all of them are until I actually step up to the door and see one of their lovely signs. So, I went to looking online to see if there was any place online that listed those places that didn't allow on-site carry.

    Well... I didn't find any.

So, I decided to create my own. Granted, it's not very pretty, or feature-rich. But, it serves its purpose and as far as I've tested works pretty OK. So let me know what you think!

Thanks for the help. I've already finished it. Well, kinda... I got the features needed to get the site to do what it's supposed to do, but I guess I'll add comments, etc. to it later if people start using it.

    Cheers.

In my experience usually the state level grassroots group that lobbied for CCW has something like this. In Virginia it is the VCDL and in Missouri it is MissouriCarry. I don't know if Arizona has something or not. I'm not sure if this area would come up on a search or not. I found the link on their websites.

Well I haven't been able to find it. Plus that I'd like to see what is in other states before I actually get there when travelling. Might be helpful. Plus I'm trying to make this as multi-state as possible. =O)

    Cheers.

    Question Soundwave...

Are you looking for information on Arizona only, or all over the country?

Great idea, BTW. I've been doing this for myself with local vendors, and I'd be happy to add some information I have discovered. Thanks!

P.S. Well, that is what I get for skimming, instead of reading, the entire thread. I'll try to add what I have found here in Middle Tennessee.

I found it interesting that Starbucks was listed as Anti-gun but I have never seen the typical anti gun sign on their doors. I know there are probably more places that are like this but starbucks just jumped out at me for some reason.

Here's one for Virginia. http://vcdl.org/ Left side go to Gun Unfriendly link

Here's Missouri. http://www.missouricarry.com/index1.htm scroll down on the left is a boycott list.

Good luck. I think PDO tried this once (http://packing.org). Hope you have a large database and a lot of time.

Thanks Ride4TheBrand, PgSqlQuery and Scott! Now there are 3,273 posted no-carry places in the database! Wahoo! I tried to add as many as I could that had an address and gave enough information.

    Cheers.

When concealed carry reform passed here in MN, there was a database on a website listing posted businesses.

In theory it was a great idea, but I found that it was grossly inaccurate, and for a good reason. It seemed that quite a few businesses that initially posted came to their senses and removed their postings, and the site did not get updated religiously.

Frankly, I don't even know if it exists any longer--maybe somebody knows more about this and can correct me if I'm off base.
