    Ya' done good.

    At the risk of sounding like a Monday morning quarterback, your first obligation/duty is to protect yourself and your wife. You and your wife need to establish an agreed upon "danger" plan/drill in the event something like this should happen again. Such as, securing your residence, ensuring your wife is aware and in a safe(st) location, arming yourself and calling 911, the order of which may vary. Then be a good witness and be prepared to defend yourself.

    I'm not sure what the housing situation is where you're at, but you may want to consider breaking your lease and finding a more suitable domicile.
