Location choice for Breakfast today: Guess which one she picked...

The wife and I were running errands this morning, and decided to stop for breakfast. The nearby choices were: Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel, and IHOP.

Guess which one she picked? (We had not discussed the recent tragedy at Carson City, NV.)

After a 20 year absence from the Columbus area, IHOP just opened a new location in Reynoldsburg.

As we approached, I was more than a little concerned, but then was pleasantly surprised as there were NO “GUNBUSTER” SIGNS in evidence. (Other IHOP Ohio locations are posted.)

Halfway thru our meal, a Reynoldsburg PD cruiser pulled up just outside our window, and sat there for several minutes; then pulled around the corner, checked out an SUV's Handicap Parking placard, and then promptly left the lot. I don't know if this drive-thru was routine for the area, or prompted by Carson City.

All in all, it was an unremarkable event, but I still prefer Cracker Barrel...

Can't beat the Crack Barrel. Eat the breakfast there no matter what time we go.

Cracker Barrel is the first stop before going to the range.

"The Old Timer" is an Old School favorite.

Need a gift for someone you can get that there.

Glad to hear your local PD is actively patroling business.

He is waiting for the crowd to thin out before he eats they too.

I've never been much of an IHOP fan, and swore off it completely after a Rootie Tootie Fresh and Fruity just destroyed my stomach something fierce.

Cracker Barrel on the other hand is good stuff. If I feel like having an old-school American-style breakfast, it's the best choice IMO over Denny's, IHOP, Chuck Wagon, Bob Evans, etc. The hash brown casserole . . .

The only problem I have with eating breakfast at Cracker Barrel, is a strange urge to take a nap afterwords!

It's a long drive to the nearest Cracker Barrel but we do have a Hungry Bear only 20 miles away. Looks like the same type of food and the servings are enormous. My wife & I split a breakfast as we hate to see half of each go to waste. If we even could eat it all it would just go to waist! Ihop is closer and just okay. Denneys sucks for us. The must deep fry everything even the eggs.

LOVE Cracker Barrel. There IS an IHOP that I like- it's downtown Columbia, and tiny. But, lots of good memories.

IHOP just opened a new location nearby within the last year. Been there twice and the wait to get a seat was ridiculous and the food was mediocre. I'm not a huge fan of eating at national chains in general anyway but there aren't that many breakfast spots around here. Oddly enough, there is a Dunkin Donuts on the same block as the IHOP and is really slow and always seems to get the orders wrong but is always packed on weekend mornings along with the IHOP. I guess folks are desperate but not willing to go very far. On Sunday's when we are feeling lazy and want a good breakfast we'll happily drive the 20 miles to Cracker Barrel. Wait is never horribly long, food is almost always good and on the rare occasion they've messed up the order or cooked it not to our liking the waitresses are always happy to fix things. I'm from the south and Cracker Barrel is the only place that serves grits around here too.
