    Tennessee and Kentucky

My wife is planning a trip to Kentucky to visit a friend of hers. Now, she doesn't have a CCW, but here in Arkansas it is legal to carry a loaded firearm in a car if you are "traveling". "Traveling" is not defined in Arkansas state law, but a trip from Little Rock to Kentucky surely falls in that category. My question is whether Tennesee and/or Kentucky have any such traveling provision in their laws. If they do, I want her to take my Baby Eagle with her as she will be driving through some larger cities (namely Memphis) and she is a small town girl at heart. Any info about these other two states would be greately appreciated.

I don't know about Tennessee, but in Kentucky it's perfectly legal to have a loaded handgun in your glovebox. Even without CCW. It doesn't have to be locked.

Unfortuately, here in Tennessee it is not legal to carry a loaded gun in your vehicle without a permit. I don't believe they have to be locked up, but the gun and ammunition have to be kept separately.
