I'm trying to convince my wife to come to the range with me. It's funny because she's been around guns her whole life (her grandfather was a lifetime member of the NRA) but she has no desire to come to the range and work towards her CCW. She is by no means afraid of guns...she just has no desire to shoot one
My wife is going to a CCW licensing class this Saturday! I'm proud of her. Her family has had to endure a horrible tragedy (loss of a family member to a hideously cruel violent crime), so she has never had the luxury of thinking like a "sheep" in the sense of living in denial.
Oh, and I do the cooking, because I'm good at it and I enjoy it. My wife keeps the place clean for me!

What a great phrase. I like her already.
The only thing that stops bad guys with guns is good guys with guns. SgtD
tn sig (and others), if you want to provide your wife with a new perspective regarding personal safety, buy a copy of "Not An Easy Target" by Paxton Quigley...not just for her, but read it yourself for a chilling account of how traumatic sexual assault is on a woman.
Then, follow up with Paxton Quigley's book, "Armed And Female" and "The Gift Of Fear" by Gavin De Becker.
I would be shocked if anyone read these books and did not chose to arm themselves for self-defense.
Good for her!
My wife got her CCW permit 2 days before mine came in - ladies first. Guess there's something about those TX gals.
If she's gonna go to the range & gun shop with me, the least I can do is help with the housework!
