Congrats on the permit. Take your WallyWorld Walk now, observe the freaks, and stay safe.

A CPL in Cali??? That just proves that miracles can happen.
If you don't mind me asking BigJon...but maybe you can post up what you stated for the "reason for applying" question...redacted of course. Just so other members can see what works and get ideas of their own?
In NY we have a rule that it can not take longer than "6" months to give you a response or a permit. We have levels of permit but they all seem to require the full 5.99 months to get. The up side is it is yours for life weather you have a gun or not and cost six dollars to add, transfer, of remove a gun from your permit. I can carry anywhere in the state except some areas in and near NYC, and the same for the Capitol, Albany. Not bad overall but I have enjoyed a cc permit for around thirty years.
Congratulations on you new permit and I hope you can carry always and never need to.
Stay safe, Frank.
What kind of hoops did you have to jump through to get your permit in california, and how much did it cost for the permit
I live in Idaho, the cost of a CCW permit here is $58.00 dollars when you originally apply, and it takes about thirty days to recieve your permit after you apply, and its good for five years. When you renew your permit its $22.00 dollars for another five years.
Congrats! Now get to carryin' son!
Congrats. On the CCL

Congratulations! I do remember reading your post/s about applying. I know what it's like to wait in anticipation. I wish I had started years ago. Since I can't turn the clock back though, I'm just glad that I am now and that its still legal to do so in this day and age.
I'm assuming that your neighbors never said anything about it to you since you didn't mention it in your post? I'm also assuming that you don't get strange looks or anything like that from your neighbors? Its all good in the neighborhood just like Applebees?
Not to tell you what to do but I strongly encourage you to carry whenever you can and stay safe. ;-)
Congrats on the new permit!
