Holy cow another traffic stop story!

My story is pretty boring though! I was driving from Phoenix to El Paso last night( I have been making that trip every weekend since my father got sick) and I was in a town called Lordsburg, New Mexico on the east bound I10 and I failed to slow down for the in town highway speed of 65( I was still going about 80-85). The state trooper pulled me over and asked for license and registration. I informed him that I have an Arizona concealed weapons permit and that I was carrying, all he said was "ok". Done, not another mention of a weapon at all. He asked me to get out and walk back to his cruiser while he ran my license and was just asking where I was headed and where I was coming from. In the end he just told me to stay safe and sent me on my way. I just want to give kudos to this particular officer, he was professional and courteous the entire stop and I was as nice and respectful to the officer as I could be. Good traffic stop.

See, you should have told him it was none of his business where you were going, and that anything besides your DL and registration would require your attorney to be present, and you were going to invoke your right to the 4th and 5th amendments.

That might have brought out the worst in both of you and made for a much more interesting stop. This boring crap has got to stop.

Only 1 out of a 100 stories? More like 1 out of 1000 or more stories. Than again dog bites man, no story, but have one man bite one dog and you have a story. When that one LEO parades around like a storm trooper with a chip on his shoulder as he disrespects his badge, it's news---another motto for the press=="if it bleeds it leads". Nice to hear a good story.

Ohhhhh you can count on it for sure ............On the other side..Kudos to that Trooper..and to YOU..for being respectable to him. Couldn't get any better than that for either one of you. You get to continue on your way, without a citation, the Trooper got to go home safely.

If you caught the troopers name, give his post a call and tell his superior about the fine officer he has. Better yet, send a letter. Phone calls get forgotten, letters go into his file.

There is no real need to warn the public about the good ones. They are not a danger to me. Would be like the weather man spending his time telling us where the good weather will be. Not mentioning where the severe weather is going to happen.

Wish my last traffic had been like that, nice friendly Trooper no problems that I was armed but I got a ticket anyway.

mlr1m. The good ones may not be a danger to you or others but it is only fair to mention the good ones along with the bad. Unless of course you are wanting the negative responses to take precedent over the good ones in order to educate LE and the public of how the big bad policeman harass the kind, humble, non threatening, everyday CC'er.

    Just an opinion

Wow, 20 over the limit, non resident, and you walked with only a warning...Huh.

I'd leave that little detail out of the letter to his superiors. Likely to get him in some hot water for loss of revenue.
