    Folks From Iowa...

    Just a quick question:

    Is Iowa recognizing CCW permits from other states yet? (Specifically Arizona in this case).

    Yes, Iowa accepts Arizona, and I'm pretty sure all other States. Handgunlawsus has all the info

    As of Jan 1, 2011 Iowa recognizes all state permits.

    You're good to go man! Keep in mind that you have no duty to inform in Iowa, and you can't carry in schools. Open carry is kosher, but it's still new--we don't see a lot of it. If you open carry, expect a man with a gun call. Have fun and enjoy my state!

    If you are traveling to and fro Iowa City, here are some maps for your carry enjoyment. Scroll down to Campus Boundary Maps. These maps illustrate smoking boundaries but coincidentally define loaded firearm carry boundaries.

    Haha, thanks, but I was born and raised in Iowa, and I've been to Iowa City more times than I can count! Go Hawks! (That's where the "AZ Hawk" name came from).
