Driving to Florida from Virginia. Am I legal?

Going to see some relatives in Florida and will be driving threw North and South Carolina and Georgia. I do have a valid Virginia Counseled carry permit and am wondering if the other three states will honor it.
    I know Florida will.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

I think you may have a problem in South Carolina and Georgia. One solution is to put your gun in the center console or glove box (it can be loaded) while driving in South Carolina. Not sure if this is legal in Ga though. www.packing.org has links to all the states rules and which states honor permits ect..

And in those states where not legal to carry in the passenger cabin, packing separately from ammo in a locked container in the trunk works just fine. Of course, you'd shift from trunk to your holster each time you're able (each new state).

Yeah, you definitely don't want to get caught on the wrong side with the gun in the wrong place.

    Georgia Car/Gun laws:

No Georgia permit (but wouldn't be denied from obtaining one) or a permit from a non-reciprocal state(and not listed as one of the ineligible):

You can transport a loaded firearm in any private passenger motor vehicle in an open manner and fully exposed to view or in the glove compartment, console, or similar compartment of the vehicle.
Also you can also carry your firearm enclosed in a case, unloaded, and separated from its ammunition.

    South Carolina Car/Gun laws

A loaded handgun can be carried in the glove box or in the console (9), or a closed saddlebag on a motorcycle (16)

    States that honor Va permit:

    Alaska
    Florida
    Idaho
    Indiana
    Kentucky
    Louisiana
    Michigan
    Missouri
    Montana
    New Mexico
    North Carolina
    Ohio
    Oklahoma
    South Dakota
    Tennessee
    Texas
    West Virginia

When I moved from Syracuse N.Y. to Florida, I just kept my ammo firearms seperate. I put trigger lockc on the firerarms and stored the firearms in the back of the truck. Somewhere on the net there is a page on the legalitys of interstate travel w/h firearms.

Sorry, Im abit busy to look it up for ya at the moment.
